The Story of an Hour

The Story of an Hour was written by Kate Chopin. I found this story very ironic because Mrs.Mallard found out her husband died from a train wreck when he actually didn't and then dies herself after seeing him alive. She was so joyful to find out of her husband's death because she could finally be free. When she sees her husband alive, she dies from disappointment. I understand why she was happy her husband died. She wanted freedom and independence. Even though her husband loved her, she felt trapped. The story takes place in the 1900s and women didn't have many rights back then. I find it hard to belive that this whole story took place within an hour because so much happened.
